In a major breakthrough, the police in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, have dismantled a significant illegal arms smuggling network operating in the Nimar region.

Authorities successfully apprehended Gurnam, alias Happy, who carried a bounty of Rs 55,000, along with his accomplice, Harpal.

Following intense interrogation, the accused led police to a forest cache where they had concealed eight country-made pistols and three locally manufactured kattas, with an estimated value of Rs 2.5 lakh.

Investigations reveal that the duo was part of an interstate arms supply network, with criminal cases registered against them across Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab.

Police are currently working to trace the full extent of this network and determine the intended destination for these weapons.
