Navi Mumbai: 29-year-old man tried to disturb communal harmony by sharing Aurangzeb photo on WhatsApp

In Mumbai, a complaint was registered against a man who shared a photo of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb on WhatsApp on Sunday. Police arrested him but later released him and gave a notice. 

A FIR was registered under section 298 of the Indian Penal Code, which is about saying words deliberately to hurt someone's religious feelings, and IPC section 153 A is about provoking arguments between groups on the basis of religion, race and place of birth. The case was registered by a right-wing Hindu organization. The police gave him a strict notice. 

In this situation, in Kolhapur and Sambhaji Nagar, Mahrashtra people protested against the social media posting photos of Aurangzeb. The atmosphere is still hot and political- religious situations may prove harmful. This post of a man from Mumbai was quite disturbing and it may create communal arguments. A case was registered due to disturbing content for communal harmony which could lead to another big protest in Maharashtra.
