Narendra Modi Unveils Delhi's New ITPO Complex, 'Bharat Mandapam'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new ITPO complex called 'Bharat Mandapam' in Delhi. The inauguration ceremony featured the PM unveiling the redeveloped complex using a drone. The event saw the presence of several dignitaries, including Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Rajnath Singh, Dr Jitendra Singh, actor Aamir Khan, and many others.

Bharat Mandapam: An appeal to India's potential

During his speech at the event, Prime Minister Modi expressed his congratulations to the nation on the inauguration of Bharat Mandapam. He conveyed that every Indian is filled with delight and pride while witnessing the magnificence of Bharat Mandapam. The Prime Minister described the complex as a testament to India's capabilities and a reflection of the nation's new energy. He highlighted how it symbolizes India's grandeur and aspirations. Prime Minister Modi also expressed gratitude to the labourers who contributed to the construction of Bharat Mandapam, acknowledging their relentless efforts even during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He extended his congratulations to all those present at the ceremony. During the event, Prime Minister Modi confidently expressed his vision for India, stating his commitment to making the country one of the top three economies in the world by his third term as Prime Minister, saying, "Yeh Modi ki guarantee hai (this is Modi's guarantee)." On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, he also paid respect to the courageous warriors who gave their lives in the Kargil War. Before the official inauguration at Pragati Maidan, the redeveloped India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) complex, PM Modi performed a puja and interacted with the labourers involved in the construction, honouring their dedication.

ITPO complex developed at ₹2,700 crore

The ITPO complex, developed at a cost of around ₹2,700 crore, covers an area of approximately 123 acres. It stands as the largest conference, convention, and exhibition centre in the country. Designed to host large-scale international exhibitions, trade fairs, conferences, and prestigious events, the convention centre serves as the focal point of the Pragati Maidan complex. It boasts a combined capacity of seven thousand people in the multipurpose hall and the plenary hall, surpassing the seating capacity of Australia's renowned Sydney Opera House. Additionally, an impressive amphitheatre within the complex has a seating capacity of 3,000 individuals.
