At least 9 people died on the spot in a horrific collision between three vehicles near Devkali village of Mohania police station area of Kaimur district, where a massive collision between three vehicles took place. Following the accident, there was a huge traffic jam on NH-II. The villagers informed NHAI and Mohania police about the accident. The police reached the spot and were busy taking out the bodies trapped inside the vehicle and identifying them.
In the direct collision between the Scorpio and the truck, 8 people riding the Scorpio died on the spot while the bike rider also died.
As soon as the Scorpio reached Devkali village, the driver lost control of the vehicle. A speeding Scorpio hit a bike rider. The speeding Scorpio went out of control, crossed the divider, and went to the other side, where it collided with a container coming from the front. The Scorpio overturned after the collision.
The collision was so severe that the Scorpio was blown to pieces. The team of Mohania police station and the NHAI team reached the spot, took out the body trapped inside the Scorpio, and started further action. At present none of the deceased has been identified. Police have sent the bodies of the deceased to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. NHAI and police teams brought the normalcy back to the highway.
Mohania police station took possession of the vehicle and started an investigation. The district administration has sent all the dead bodies for post-mortem. The families of the deceased have been informed.
