Militant clash in Rajouri, 5 soldiers dead

An anti-terrorism operation led to the death of 5 soldiers in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday 5 May. An attack was launched near Kandi forest between security commandos and terrorists. Terrorists used an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) for an attack. In that battle we lost 5 soldiers and one official was injured who is under the observation of a doctor in Udhampur.

Security forces launched an operation to find terrorists who had hided themselves near the Rajouri area. These terrorists are suspected to be the ones who did attack an army truck in Poonch on 20 April. The army planned an intelligence-based operation with the help of parliamentary forces and Jammu and Kashmir police. After yesterday’s attack, internet service has been shut down in the Rajouri area.

Everyone expressed their grief for the death of the soldiers. L/Naik Ruchin Singh Rawat, Paratrooper Pramod Negi, Paratrooper Siddhant Chettri, Naik Arvind Kumar and Havaldar Neelam Singh were the 5 soldiers who lost their lives in yesterday’s attack. This incident happened while the foreign minister Bilawal Bhuto Zardari was on his visit to India and thus, India’s external affairs minister S Jay Shankar did share their direct opinion saying, “India will not tolerate terrorism at all, anti-terrorism measures are need of the hour."
