The Sinhagad Road police have detained a wanted criminal in an MCOCA case from Chiplun in the Ratnagiri district. The criminal has been on the run for eight months. Suraj Santosh Dhavale, a Hingne Khurd resident, was detained. Suraj Dhavale and his accomplices have been charged with attempted murder at the Sinhagad Road police station. Under MCOCA, action was taken against the accused. Dhavale's other associates have been arrested by police. Senior officials were informed by API Sachin Nikam that Dhavale was hiding at Chiplun in the Ratnagiri district. Senior officials gave the go-ahead to take legal action, and a police team, assisted by local police, arrested him. Rajendra Galande, an ACP, is looking into the situation.
