New Delhi, June 6: The “Youth for Viksit Bharat – MY Bharat Youth Convention 2026” witnessed the participation of thousands of young achievers, innovators, entrepreneurs, students, professionals and social contributors at Thyagaraj Stadium in New Delhi, where national leaders emphasized the critical role of India's youth in realizing the vision of a developed nation by 2047.

Organized by MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the convention aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of positioning young Indians as the central force in building a “Viksit Bharat” by the centenary year of Independence in 2047. The event brought together more than 6,000 youth participants from across the country and celebrated excellence in sports, entrepreneurship, public service, social impact, innovation and nation-building initiatives.

Youth at the Centre of India’s Development Vision

Addressing the gathering, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya described the convention as a platform that recognizes the energy, creativity and aspirations of India’s young generation. He stressed that India’s demographic dividend presents a historic opportunity and that the country’s future will be shaped by how effectively young people are empowered to lead change.

Mandaviya said the vision of Viksit Bharat cannot be achieved through government efforts alone and requires active participation from the youth. He urged young Indians to move beyond being job seekers and become job creators, innovators and problem-solvers capable of contributing to national development. According to him, youth possess the energy and determination needed to transform India into a developed nation over the next two decades.

The Union Minister highlighted that MY Bharat has emerged as an important platform for connecting young citizens with opportunities for leadership, community engagement, skill development and nation-building. He encouraged participants to use their talents and capabilities to address social challenges while contributing positively to society and the economy.

Rekha Gupta Emphasizes Youth Participation in Nation-Building

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who also addressed the convention, underlined the importance of youth participation in governance, innovation and public service. She said the aspirations and achievements of young Indians will determine the direction of the country’s development journey and emphasized that the youth must become active stakeholders in shaping India’s future.

The Chief Minister noted that India is witnessing a period of rapid transformation across sectors and that young people are playing a vital role in driving progress.
