  • Incidents Reported during Phase 4
  1. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered a detailed inquiry into an alleged attack by YSRCP MLA Annabathuni Sivakumar on a voter in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. The incident occurred at a polling station and went viral after a video of Sivakumar slapping the voter. The voter then slapped the MLA on his face, leading to the YSRCP cadre attacking the voter.
  2. Technical glitches in electronic voting machines (EVMs) caused significant delays in polling across several locations, including Kumutiguda, Nuapada, Loharapali and Podapali, Jeypore, and Borigumma, leading to frustration among voters.

  3. Meanwhile, the AIMIM-led party filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India following the emergence of a video showing BJP candidate Madhavi Latha allegedly asking burqa-clad women to unveil at a polling booth in Azampur after voting at Amrita Vidyalaya. Latha now faces legal action under IPC Section 132 of the Representation of the People Act.
  4. Violence marred the elections as well, with YSRCP activists reportedly attacking TDP MP Narsaraopeta Lavu Krishnadevarayulu and his supporters with stones at a polling station in Palnadu district. Krishnadevarayulu's convoy sustained damage, escalating tensions in the region. Additionally, clashes between YSRCP and TDP supporters in Ananthapuram district resulted in injuries to a TDP supporter and a constable, further highlighting the volatile atmosphere surrounding the electoral process.
  5. Odisha's CEO, Nikunja Bihari Dhal, has taken strict action, suspending three polling officials and ordering the arrest of two for serious dereliction of duty. This includes the presiding officer of booth no. 193 in Gopalpur assembly constituency and two others in Chatrapur assembly segment.

  • Madhya Pradesh: 14.97%

  • Jammu and Kashmir: 5.07%
