On Wednesday morning, a fire along tracks between Juinagar and Nerul stations in Navi Mumbai caused local train services on the Central Railway's Harbour Line to be interrupted. The trains on the corridor were 30 to 45 minutes late or more, causing crowds to grow on trains and at stations during the morning rush hour. The grass caught fire near the rails between Juinagar and Nerul stations, interrupting train operations. The Harbour Line train operations suffered since they had to switch off the electricity to the overhead wires from 7.30 to 7.50 am because the fire was close to the stabling lines, where the trains are left to park. Although there was a minimum 15–20 minute delay in the trains, everything was gradually returning to normal. Navi Mumbai and the western suburbs of Mumbai are connected via the Central Railway's Harbour route.
