Kedarnath Dham opened to pilgrims after IMD snowfall alert

On Tuesday morning, shloka singing and boisterous drumbeats accompanied the opening of Kedarnath Dham's gates to pilgrims. Before one of the most respected pilgrimage destinations in the country opened, the Temple of Lord Shiva was decorated with 20 quintals of flowers.

According to a government announcement, Kedarghati's weather is predicted to stay unfavourable this week. The upcoming week is anticipated to have bad weather in Kedarghati. The state administration has ceased tracking visitors to Kedarnath Dham after receiving a warning from the meteorological department. "The administration has experienced difficulties as a result of the significant snowfall in Kedarnath," the message adds. Snowfall on Lord Shiva's Kedarnath Dham path, however, was warned about by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

The Uttarakhand government has ceased accepting registration requests from visitors for the Kedarnath Dham Yatra due to the significant snowfall along the pilgrimage route and a weather advisory from the Met Office.The first batch of devotees departed Haridwar on Saturday, the day of Akshay Tritiya, and started their Char Dham Yatra from Yamunotri Dham.
