Tourists have been disappointed by the sudden announcement of the authorities of Karnataka, who has recently banned visiting waterfalls in the state. Certain tourists express that the information should have been given prior.
Following their neighbouring state Goa, where visitors to the Dudhsagar waterfalls were restricted, Karnataka has also taken a preventive measure for floods, by restricting the Belgavi and Khanapur taluk waterfalls. The reason behind this restriction is due to the strangled situation of visitors who were held off guard near a railway track due to the sudden spike in water levels at Goa.
The government should have regulated the flow of tourists. Imposing a total ban on visitors at the waterfalls does not serve any purpose,” a tourist mentioned.
