There is a recent trend among Chandigarh residents and tourists to visit Sukhna Lake, and it is not just to enjoy the stunning aspect of the waterbody and its surroundings. It's the Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation's (CITCO) brand-new "Pizza ATM," which can make pizzas in under three minutes.
In an interview, CITCO executives stated that the pizza vending machine—which is the sole working one in the nation and the first of its kind in north India—was installed sometime last month. A comparable gadget was previously installed in a Mumbai train station.
About the Pizza ATM
The licensee, Dr Rohit Sharma of iMatrix World Wide, which operates the pizza kiosk, stated, "We acquired the concept of the Pizza ATM from France. Because it was pricey, we chose to build the equipment ourselves at our Mohali facility."

On the pizza vending machine at Sukhna Lake, Sharma stated,
"On average, the vending machine is currently preparing roughly 100 pizzas every day. On weekends, there is an increase in the number to 200–300. Our ATM pizzas cost roughly 35% cheaper than those at Pizza Hut and Domino's. For example, a medium paneer tikka pizza costs around Rs 340 while the same pizza costs Rs 560 at Domino's."
The idea of the pizza ATM originated in Europe. It produces a wide variety of vegetarian pizzas. Initially, the company purchased Chinese equipment that did more than just make the dough and sprinkle on the toppings. However, the machine's technical support and the availability of replacement parts started to become problematic.
The terms and conditions include that the CITCO will charge the licensee for all operational costs associated with operating the pizza kiosk, including recruiting employees, paying for their uniforms, providing training, and other costs. Additionally, the CITCO stated that the licensee bears the burden of maintaining sanitation around the pizza vending machine.
