The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas across Himachal Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand in the coming days. In the national capital, regions like Narela, Bawana, and Akshardham are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall at isolated locations.
The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall alert for West Bengal and Sikkim, forecasting significant rainfall throughout the upcoming week. While most parts of the country are expected to receive normal to above-normal rainfall, South Peninsular India is likely to experience below-normal to normal rainfall during this period.
Rainfall Prediction for West India
Light to moderate rain has been forecast for Konkan and Goa throughout the week. Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat are also expected to receive widespread light to moderate rainfall over the next three days, until September 29. Additionally, the IMD has issued a heavy rainfall alert for regions like Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, Saurashtra, and Kutch on September 28.
Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall on September 27, with continued heavy showers expected on September 28 and October 2. The IMD has also predicted isolated heavy rainfall for Jharkhand on September 27, Bihar on September 28, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from September 30 to October 2.
The IMD has forecast isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall for Himachal Pradesh on September 27, along with a very heavy rainfall alert for Uttarakhand on September 28. These regions are expected to experience significant weather disturbances in the coming days.
While the southern regions of India are expected to receive scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall during the week, isolated heavy rainfall is anticipated for Kerala and Mahe from September 28 to 30. South Interior Karnataka is expected to see heavy showers on September 29, while Coastal Karnataka may experience similar conditions on September 30.
Situation In Mumbai
The IMD has predicted a generally cloudy atmosphere with heavy rainfall continuing over the next few days. Mumbai recorded over 200 mm of rainfall in several areas within just five hours on Wednesday. Isolated heavy rains are expected to persist in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Raigad until at least September 27, keeping the city on high alert.
