The southern districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Pathanamthitta, along with the northern districts of Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod, have been highlighted by the IMD for potential heavy rainfall. The forecast predicts rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm within a 24-hour period, which could pose risks in vulnerable areas.

The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has issued precautions for those residing in areas prone to landslides, mudslides, and flash floods. Residents in such locations are advised to move to safer places as per the directions of local authorities. The KSDMA emphasised that the heavy rainfall could lead to dangerous situations, and people in high-risk zones should remain alert to official updates and evacuation orders.

In addition to landslide warnings, the KSDMA has cautioned people living near riverbanks and low-lying areas around dams. With rising water levels expected, the authorities have urged residents to stay aware of possible flooding risks and follow any evacuation instructions promptly.
"Residents in disaster-prone areas must ensure that relief camps are set up in their locality and move to these locations during the daytime. For assistance, they can contact local bodies and revenue authorities," stated the KSDMA. The authority's advisory underscores the importance of staying prepared and adhering to safety protocols during the forecasted heavy rains.
