Gujarat man travels 200km to kill wife

In the village of Bhikapur, a Gujarat police constable killed his wife by stabbing her to death because he was fed up with their domestic argument and extramarital affair. On Wednesday, the accused will be presented in front of the First Class Judicial Magistrate court.

A man reportedly killed his wife inside a moving bus in Gujarat, then sat with her body until the police showed up and took him into custody. On Tuesday, the incident happened in Gujarat's Chhotaudepur district.

In his police complaint, bus driver Raman Rathva claimed that he and conductor Mangiben Rathva were on duty to drive a State Transport bus from Pavijetpur to Chuli. But as soon as the bus arrived in Bhikhapura, a passenger got on, argued with bus conductor Mangiben, and then stabbed her repeatedly.

Amrut Rathwa has been named as the suspect. He is assigned to the Surat district as a police officer. Rathwa killed his wife by slitting her throat because he thought she was having an extramarital relationship.

The possibility of immoral relationships

According to rumours, the accused is a police officer for Gujarat. His motivation for killing his wife was his suspicion that she was involved in an immoral relationship. The accused planned the murder before killing his wife, who he had previously taken.

At least 200 kilometres were travelled by the accused to kill his wife. Manguben has been named as the victim. According to a report in India Today, the woman was on duty as a bus conductor for Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) when her policeman husband shot and killed her inside the moving bus.

The policeman and Manguben had a phone argument before the killing. He then thought of a plan and decided to kill the woman.

On Tuesday, Rathwa travelled to the village of Bhikhapur, where Manguben was stationed, by bus. The accused made a cunning move towards his wife, who was seated on the conductor's seat, and then began stabbing her, instantly killing her.

Rathwa remained put after the murder and waited for the police to arrive before calling for help to have him arrested. The accused has been reported to police for murder. The case is being looked into further.
