Four elephants electrocuted & killed near the Odisha border

Four elephants, including a male, 2 females and a calf came in contact with an electric transformer and became death victims. The incident took place near Katragadda village, Bhamini Mnadal in Myanam district of Andhra Pradesh. These elephants, a herd of 6, came from Odisha as it is the Andhra-Odisha border. On Friday morning, villagers found them dead near an electric transformer. That electric transformer was not covered by a safety wall around it. The immediate complaint was sent by villagers to the forest department.

This area was in the process of making it an elephant zone, including those 6 elephants and 8 other elephants of that region, a total of 14 elephants. Elephants usually go outside the forest for food and water purposes during summer and then have trouble with any kind of accident. Hence, animal rights activists demanded an elephant rehabilitation center because this misery happened in Andhra Pradesh.
