Rangers detained Imran Khan on Tuesday in connection with the Al-Qadir Trust case. Imran Khan is the former prime minister of Pakistan and the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He was detained outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC). Reputable Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir claims that Imran Khan was waiting for biometrics in the IHC for a short while before he was detained. Khan was detained by Rangers while undertaking the biometrics procedure, as his solicitor, Barrister Gohar Khan, informed me. Gohar claimed that when Khan was initially shoved, the Rangers imprisoned him with great brutality.
The chief justice of the Islamabad High Court, Justice Amir Farooq, summoned the secretary of the interior ministry and the Islamabad police chief after Imran Khan was detained by Rangers on NAB (National Accountability Bureau) warrants. According to Dawn, the IHC CJ claimed that he was exercising "restraint" and threatened to "summon" the prime minister if the Islamabad police chief failed to come before the court. Come to court and explain to us why Imran was detained and in whatever circumstances, Justice Farooq said.
The discovery occurs only a few days after Imran Khan accused a top intelligence official now in service of taking part in the attempt on his life in Wazirabad. The army denied the accusations, but in a video statement on Tuesday, Khan reiterated them.
Shireen Mazari of the PTI criticized the Shehbaz Sharif administration for removing Khan from the court grounds. She posted a video of police officers shattering glassware to enter the building to take the former prime minister into custody. Breaking into the IHC to kidnap Imran Khan from the courthouse is considered state terrorism. Imran Khan was violently treated by the Rangers, who also kidnapped him. Mazari alleged in a subsequent tweet that rangers also beat up on legal professionals and court employees. What rules? Rangers invaded courts as though they were occupying territory; IHC staff members and attorneys were also beaten. The High Court was stormed by paramilitary soldiers in Pakistan today," she claimed.
According to PTI leader and former minister Fawad Hussain, Imran Khan has been carried away by unknown people to an unknown place. The Secretary of the Interior and the IG of the police are required to appear in court within 15 minutes, according to the CJ Islamabad High Court.Despite receiving many reminders, said Pakistani interior minister Rana Sanaullah, Imran Khan did not show up in court. In order to prevent damages to the public treasury, the public accountability bureau conducted the arrest, he stated. No one was physically harmed, according to the Islamabad police, and Section 144 has been implemented in the city.
