The first Vande Bharat train to go through Uttarakhand was kicked off on Thursday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Express would run between Dehradun and Delhi and is developed in-country.
Beginning on May 29, the new train will begin its regular trips and will cover 302 kilometers in four hours and 45 minutes. The train will run every day of the week, excluding Wednesday.
The Executive chair car ticket will cost Rs 1,890 per head and Rs 1,065 for an AC chair car from Delhi to Dehradun.
At 17:50, the 22457 Delhi (Anand Vihar) - Dehradun train will leave Anand Vihar and arrive in Dehradun at 22:35. It will stop in Haridwar, Roorkee, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, and Meerut City.
In a press release, the Prime Minister's Office said "With world-class amenities, it will herald a new era of comfortable travel experience, especially for tourists traveling to the state.”
“The train has been indigenously manufactured and is equipped with advanced safety features, including the Kavach technology," it continued.
The Prime Minister also presented newly electrified sections of train lines in the state through a videoconference at the opening of the Vande Bharat route. The new sections make the whole train line in Uttarakhand entirely electrified.
