Sindri, Jharkhand: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated numerous development projects worth Rs 35,700 crores in Sindri, Dhanbad, and Jharkhand on Friday. These projects span across the fertiliser, rail, power, and coal sectors. While in Jharkhand, the PM meticulously inspected the HURL Model and toured the Sindri Plant Control Room, underscoring his commitment to fostering progress and prosperity in the region.
The fertiliser plant, worth ₹8,900 crore, was established in Sindri, Dhanbad district, dedicated to the farmers. Additionally, PM Modi launched railway, power, and coal ventures amounting to over ₹26,000 crore, showcasing significant strides in the state's infrastructural advancement. Governor CP Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Champai Soren, and Union Minister Arjun Munda were present at the inauguration programme in Sindri. The PM stated that India requires 360 lakh metric tonnes of urea every year, and ten years ago, the country was producing just 225 lakh metric tonnes of urea and relying on imports.
“Due to the efforts of our government, in the last 10 years, urea production has risen to 310 lakh metric tons," he he said.
During his public address, the PM talked about the revival of the Ramagundam, Gorakhpur, and Barauni fertiliser plants, mentioning that Sindri has now been included in this initiative. PM Modi highlighted that the Talcher fertiliser plant is also scheduled to commence within the next year and a half. With assurance, he stated his intention to dedicate this plant to the nation. The Prime Minister informed us that these five plants collectively aim to produce 60 lakh metric tonnes of urea swiftly, significantly advancing India towards self-reliance in fertiliser production.
PM Modi arrived in Dhanbad on Friday with a splendid roadshow, where the enthusiastic crowd showered him with a cascade of flower petals as he gracefully acknowledged their warm greetings with waves of appreciation.
PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple railway projects totaling over Rs 17,600 crore in Jharkhand. These projects encompass the construction of the 3rd and 4th lines connecting Sone Nagar to Andal, Tori-Shivpur's first and second lines, and the Biratoli-Shivpur third railway line (part of the Tori-Shivpur Project). Additionally, they include the Mohanpur-Hansdiha new rail line and the Dhanbad-Chandrapura rail line, among others. The PM also inaugurated three train services: the Deoghar-Dibrugarh train service, the MEMU Train Service between Tatanagar and Badampahar (daily), and a long-haul freight train departing from the Shivpur station.
