At the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, a female tiger cub aged seven months was found dead in unclear circumstances, according to officials.A struggle between the cub and another tiger is thought to be what killed it, according to FS Ninama, Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. Near the dead cub's carcass, the official reported, were the pugmarks of another tiger.
In addition, police disclosed that dog squads had been sent in to assist with the continuing investigation into the event. Due to the presence of 785 large cats, Madhya Pradesh once again became known as a tiger state last month.
The state once again held the top spot for having the most tigers in the most recent data, which the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) released in honour of International Tiger Day under the title "Status of Tigers, Co-predators, and Prey in India, 2022."
With 785 tigers, Madhya Pradesh has the highest tiger population in the nation. Karnataka is second with 563, Uttarakhand is fifth with 560, and Maharashtra is last with 444.The NTCA report went on to say that Madhya Pradesh has the most tiger reserves, with six total: Kanha Tiger Reserve, Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Panna Tiger Reserve, Pench Tiger Reserve, Satpura Tiger Reserve, and Sanjay-Dubri Tiger Reserve.Bandhavgarh (135), Khana (105) and Pench (77) have the largest densities of tigers within the Madhya Pradesh Tiger Reserve.
