Farmers Protest 2024: Trains to block in Punjab, third round of talks with Centre today

On the third day of the 'Delhi Chalo' march, farmer leaders are scheduled to meet with Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Arjun Munda, and Nityananad Rai in Chandigarh on Thursday, although the Punjab-Haryana border remains tense.

Earlier on Wednesday, while speaking with the media, the farmer leaders stated that the protestors at the Shambhu border were given two options: continue pressing for their demands or return to the table for further discussions. The leaders of farmers indicated that they "would refrain from advancing towards Delhi on Thursday till the meeting with the Union ministers if there was no tear gas shelling from Haryana's side".

The Bharatiya Kisan Union-Ugrahan (BKU-Ugrahan) is going to block the railway tracks in Punjab today in solidarity with the farmers marching towards Delhi, in addition to the protests at the Punjab-Haryana borders.
