Diljit Dosanjh’s Delhi Concert: Poor Organization Leaves Fans Disheartened

Indian artist Diljit Dosanjh came to Delhi on 26 and 27th of October to perform for his Dil-Luminati Tour. He waved the Indian flag from the stage while keeping people glued to his energetic performance. This was at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium where thousands of fans waited in line for hours to hear his hit songs like Born to Shine, GOAT, and 5 Taara live. The concert experience had been marred by delay and mismanagemen and became a major dampener to the experience for most people.

Concert got Delayed Despite tickets being sold for premium rates, some as high as ₹15,000 the concert did not begin on time. Originally scheduled for a 7 PM opening time, the concert started with delay nearly 8 o'clock. Fans who turned up at 5.30 PM were disappointedly waiting in long lines for kilometers outside. The listeners were forced to wait long hours to hear repeatedly Zomato and Kingfisher advertisements that caused them more frustration. Another source of frustration was the poor amenities at the stadium. Audience of thousands in numbers but only two counters of food and beverages available which got overcrowded. unhygienic washrooms worried the women fans.

A girl allegedly fainted due to crowed and no staff member responded immediately to assistance called by the fans. Many of the attendants did not get their refreshments because of the rowdy crowd that made some beverage counters close earlier. Those people who had added money onto their prepaid cards for food and drinks could not retrieve the money after the concert. A fan who attended said that the event was absolute chaos and "the price for the concert does not match the organisation."
