Delhi experienced its coldest morning of the season on Monday, with the minimum temperature dropping to 6.5 degrees Celsius, three notches below the seasonal average. The city has been witnessing below-normal temperatures for the past few days, with Saturday recording a low of 8.5 degrees Celsius and Sunday at 8.3 degrees Celsius.
The relative humidity was at 100% at 8.30 a.m. The weather forecast predicts a clear sky for the day, with the maximum temperature expected to reach around 23 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperatures are expected to fluctuate between 6 and 7 degrees Celsius from December 12 to December 17. Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) was measured at 318, indicating poor air quality. The AQI scale categorises values above 450 as "severe-plus."
The Indian Meteorological Department predicts clear skies with shallow fog in the mornings until December 15. They also anticipate a gradual decline in minimum temperatures over parts of Central and Northwest India in the next two days, as well as over parts of West India in the next 3–4 days.
