Delhi HC summons BBC in the Modi documentary defamation case

The Supreme Court ordered the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) to appear in court on 22 May, Monday. The Gujarat-based NGO 'Justice on Trial' filed a case against the BBC saying it's 2 part documentary 'India - the Modi Question' has defamatory content and it has tarnished the image of India, the Indian Judiciary and the Prime Minister himself. Advocate Harish Salve, who appeared in court on the NGO's behalf, also put valid points saying how the documentary is harmful for India's reputation. 

Before this, on 3 May, the court summoned the BBC, Wiki and the Internet regarding the same as the BJP leader filed the case. The documentary was censored by the broadcasting ministry of India. 

While in this case, SC sent a notice to the respondent and the next date of 15th September has been given for a hearing.
