The Delhi-Gurgaon highway is subject to severe enforcement of traffic and safety legislation by the traffic police in the National Capital Region (NCR). It is believed that specialized police units will be stationed at specific locations along the freeway to make sure that trucks staying in their designated lanes at night don't cross over.
The road and safety regulation forbids commercial cars from using the first two right lanes, according to News18. Anybody who disobeys the guidelines faces a ₹500 fine. In the event that the regulations are broken twice, there will be a fine of ₹1,500.
According to a senior traffic police official, the regulations would apply on both sides of the highway, from the Kherki Daula toll to the border with Sirhaul.
Transporters have been advised to ask drivers to drive by the regulations and not use the first two lanes on the right of the expressway, according to DCP (traffic) Virender Vij.
To inform higher-ups about the new regulations, he presided over a conference and gave traffic inspectors instructions on how to properly enforce lane driving.
