Delhi factory fire leaves behind a burned-out body.

A call reporting a fire at a building in Chand Bagh was received at 3:15 on Saturday, said the police.

The fire had started in the building's basement, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Joy Tirkey, who made a statement following a spot inspection.

They added that it took firefighters nearly three hours to extinguish the flame.

The body of Maya, a 30-year-old woman who was a resident of Gokalpuri, was discovered in the downstairs washroom. As per authorities, who were quoted by the news agency ANI, she was employed as a laborer in the laptop cell factory.

After a postmortem examination, the body of the woman was given to her family, according to authorities.

"After the crime team visited the spot, a case was registered under section 285 (negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code and further investigation is in progress,” the DCP said.
