The situation in Pattampakkam, Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu has been grim, as 2 buses collide head-on with each other. This tragic incident took place on 19th June 2023. It has taken the life of 4 passengers and several others have suffered severe injuries. The 2 buses which collided are from private bus companies. The usual route for these is Cuddlore to Panruti, and Pattampakkam is a town on the way to Panruti. The first level of investigation by the local police revealed that one of the bus tyres was burst, and the driver lost his control over the steering. This has led to this frontal collision with another bus approaching in the opposite direction.
The victims were rushed to the Cuddalore Government Hospital for immediate treatment, by a team of Patrol and policemen, along with the help of the residents. However, some people were too critical in condition hence they were shifted to the Puducherry Government Hospital immediately.
