Officials reported on Tuesday that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has confiscated cash exceeding Rs 20 crore during their search at the premises of Rajinder Kumar Gupta, the ex-Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of WAPCOS Limited, a public sector enterprise. According to officials, Gupta was recently charged with accumulating assets that are beyond his known sources of income.

After filing a First Information Report (FIR) against Gupta and his family members, teams from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) searched his premises. The officials stated that during the search, Rs 20 crore in cash was seized along with documents pertaining to properties and other valuables.WAPCOS Limited, previously recognized as Water and Power Consultancy Services (India) Limited, is a government-owned central public sector enterprise that operates under the administrative authority of the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
