Cabinet Approves ₹ 12,343 Crore Worth of Multi-Tracking Rail Projects

Six railway projects totaling $12,343 crore have been authorised by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, which is overseen by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The national government will finance these improvements, which aim to improve the Indian Railways' usability and reduce congestion in their busiest portions.

The projects approved will encompass 18 districts in Rajasthan, Assam, Telangana, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Nagaland and add 1,020 kilometres to the railway network. In these states, it is anticipated that they will generate employment for almost three crore man-days.

Aiming to make the local population self-sufficient through extensive development and increased employment opportunities, these multi-track projects are consistent with the vision of a "new India," and the minister of railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for approving them.
