BSF-Naxal shootout leaves one woman naxalite and one BSF jawan dead

On May 27, authorities in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district reported that a woman identified as a Naxalite was critically hurt during a gunfight with security troops. A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan suffered minor wounds during the clash that occurred on May 26 in the forests near Urpanjhur village. The security personnel discovered a woman named Naxalite injured at the scene after the gunfight, and they also found one single-shot gun there.

The gunfight left BSF constable Vikas Singh with minor injuries, and in the camp, he received initial care. The injured Naxalite has been known to be Fagni, a Maoist from the RKB division and Vinod's wife. Vinod is the Maoist commander of the Madanwada Local Organisation Squad (LOS). She is currently being transported to the hospital, and local search efforts are still active.
