Bengaluru's TCS gets 'hoax bomb' threat call

TCS Think Campus in Bengaluru received a hoax bomb threat call, causing panic among employees, according to a News18 report.

Employees working within the office were swiftly evacuated from the premises when they learnt about the bomb threat call. The call was received in the B block of the campus on Tuesday morning, as per sources. In response to the bomb threat, authorities in the Parappana Agrahara area were alerted, and a team visited the campus. Additionally, a bomb disposal squad was rushed to the location.

The bomb disposal squad team and the dog squad began searching for explosives inside the complex. Fortunately, after the inspection nothing suspicious was found inside the building.

Further investigations revealed that a former female employee made the bomb threat call from Hubli district in Karnataka. It was discovered that her actions stemmed from resentment towards the company. Authorities have initiated a search for the woman responsible for the call.

This marks the second hoax bomb threat incident in 2023 involving a TCS campus. In May, a TCS campus in Hyderabad faced a false bomb threat, resulting in the evacuation of 1,500 employees. The call for the Hyderabad incident was reportedly traced back to a former TCS employee in Bengaluru, previously associated with the security wing but subsequently dismissed from the role.
