Abhishek Ghosalkar, the son of a well-known Shiv Sena leader former MLA Vinod Ghosalkar, was shot and killed by Mauris Noronha, a poker player well-known for his humanitarian efforts during the COVID-19 outbreak, in a terrifying episode that was captured on camera during a Facebook Live session. After the tragic turn of events, Noronha, who had his own political ambitions, killed himself, the story took an even darker turn.
The crux of the issue is Noronha's conviction that Ghosalkar was involved in framing him for rape. After serving nearly five months in jail for legal issues, Noronha harboured tremendous animosity against Ghosalkar, a former corporator and the son of prominent Shiv Sena figure Vinod Ghosalkar.

Things got heated between Noronha and Ghosalkar, starting with Ghosalkar publicly opposing Noronha's run in the corporator election. Matters escalated when a rape case was slapped on Noronha, and suspicions arose that Ghosalkar had a hand in orchestrating it. Noronha, not one to mince words, openly declared he wouldn't "spare" Ghosalkar and even plastered banners of the Shiv Sena leader's son in his area.
The tragic showdown went down during a Facebook Live session arranged by Noronha himself. Pretending to bury the hatchet, he invited Ghosalkar, pretending to support his political bid. But Noronha's real intentions unfolded as he used his bodyguard Amarendra Mishra's licenced pistol to shoot Ghosalkar before turning the gun on himself.

Adding to the mess, the cops nabbed Mishra under Section 29(B) of the Arms Act, exposing the intricate connections between those involved. Mishra's wife fiercely claims he had no clue about Noronha's dark plans.
This incident throws a sombre shade on the mix of personal vendettas, political ambitions, and alleged legal manoeuvring. As investigators dig into the details, it raises concerns about the consequences of unchecked hostilities in the pursuit of power, leaving the community stunned and mourning the loss of lives.
