Over 80 tourists were strangled in the Mudhyalanthara waterfalls of Mulugu district in Karnataka, as the water levels continued to suddenly rise, leaving the tourists in a fearful state. While this happened at noon, the SDRF, NDRF and local police reached the location to rescue people safely.
This is one of the high-range waterfalls in Karnataka, and the view during monsoon is particularly splendid due to the steep water rise. While this has been said, the city has had a record-breaking rainfall of 69cm on the same day. The tourists were unaware of this which led them to this situation.
The tourists were all aged between 18 and 25, who has taken an indirect route to reach the spot.
