On Friday, about 70 children were taken to the hospital after eating lunch at a government school in the Dabri area of southwest Delhi, officials said. They said that the Delhi government had issued a "show cause" warning to the organisation that provided the midday meal. According to a government source in Delhi, "all the children were in good health," adding that those in charge of providing schoolchildren's lunches have been instructed to ensure they are fed well. No one who is found to be accountable for what occurred will get off easy, the official said.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (southwest), Manoj C, said that around 6 p.m., the Sagarpur police station got a PCR call saying that about 70 boys in Classes VI to VIII at Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya School, Durgapark, in Sagarpur had vomited after eating lunch.
The kids were brought to Dabri's DDU and Dada Dev hospitals. According to the school, students received soy juice after lunch, which made them sick and vomit. The cop said that the crime team was called to the scene and that the leftover food and juice were taken.
"At lunch, the kids were served Puri subji and then soy juice. When the kids said they were hurting, the food and juice were taken away. "Right now, all students are stable," the DCP said. He also said that a first information report (FIR) would be filed and that the case would be looked into.
