The railway ministry is enhancing the amenities it provides for their passengers. As part of this, the new nursing pods will be set at 7 stations on Central railway. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Panvel and Lonavala will be part of this project.
Many times, while traveling, it gets difficult for a mother to breastfeed her child. Initiative of nursing pods will give a comfortable, enhanced experience to breastfeeding women. This system will have different kinds of amenities, like comfortable seating, diaper changing stations, proper lights and fans, dustbins for disposal of diapers. Licensed service providers will be responsible for the maintenance of nursing pods.
