According to the police, on Sunday, a collision occurred between a truck and a bus near a temple in the Pune district, Maharashtra. The incident resulted in the death of four people, while 22 others were injured. The bus, a private passenger vehicle travelling from Satara to Dombivli in Thane, was hit by a truck from behind on the Mumbai-Bengaluru national highway at around 2 am. The truck driver and three passengers of the bus died in the accident. The medical emergency services reached the location and provided aid to the victims. Thirteen injured passengers were transported to hospitals in Pune, and the rest were taken to nearby hospitals. Pune Zilla Parishad CEO, Ayush Prasad, stressed the need to address driver fatigue to prevent such incidents and urged all drivers to take appropriate safety measures when driving at night. Prasad also emphasised the importance of reporting rash and negligent driving to the police.
