5 Army soldiers killed during Rajouri encounter

In Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, specifically in the Kandi area, an encounter took place on Friday morning between terrorists and security forces, resulting in the death of  5 Army soldiers and injuries to four others, including an officer. The terrorists are believed to be part of the same group that attacked an army truck on April 20, killing five soldiers and injuring one. The Indian army launched a joint operation upon receiving information about the terrorists' presence in the Kandi forest in the Rajouri sector.

According to a statement by the Indian army, a search team made contact with the terrorists who were hiding in a cave located in an area with thick vegetation, rocky terrain, and steep cliffs. After the incident, the injured soldiers were transported to the Command hospital in Udhampur, and more teams were dispatched to the site of the encounter. Mobile internet services have been suspended in the Rajouri district, and on Thursday, suspected terrorists fired at security forces in the Bijbhera area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district, injuring one police officer. The Jammu and Kashmir police have cordoned off the area to catch the attackers.
