On Saturday, The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested 15 people involved in Terror related activities during multiple raids in Maharashtra and Karnataka in connection to an ISIS terror conspiracy case, ANI reported. 13 of them were arrested from Maharashtra alone.
The arrest followed raids conducted by NIA at 44 locations in Padgha-Borivali, Thane, Mira Road, and Pune in Maharashtra, as well as Bengaluru in Karnataka this morning. These arrested 15 individuals were accused of promoting terrorism and engaging in activities associated with the global terror group ISIS.
Anti-terror agency personnel conducted coordinated raids at these sites, working closely with the police forces of Maharashtra and Karnataka, as reported by officials.
These raids resulted in the confiscation of huge amounts of unaccounted cash, firearms, sharp-edged weapons, incriminating documents, smartphones, and other digital devices. According to NIA investigations, the accused, operating under the guidance of their foreign handlers, were actively engaged in various terrorist activities. This includes the creation of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) to advance the violent and destructive agenda of ISIS.

The NIA has been conducting thorough investigations to combat the terrorist organisation's efforts to instigate terror and violence in India.The investigations disclosed that the accused were part of the ISIS Maharashtra module, operating from Padgha-Borivali.
Extremist ideologies of terrorist organisations like Al-Qaeda and ISIS aims to form a violent gang to recruit youth and promote violent jihad for establishing Islamic rule in India. Their objective was to disrupt the peace and communal harmony of the nation while waging a war against the Government of India.
In recent months, NIA has conducted extensive raids, dismantling various ISIS modules and arresting several terrorists in connection with the ISIS terror conspiracy case. The agency registered a case against the ISIS Maharashtra module earlier this year and has taken strong actions to disrupt multiple modules and networks associated with the terror outfit.
Last month, in the Pune ISIS module, the national agency filed a chargesheet against seven individuals involved in a conspiracy related to the terror organization. These accused were engaged in fundraising for the terror outfit with the intent to support its terror and violence-related activities.
The accused were found in possession of IEDs, firearms, and ammunition. Charges have been filed under various sections of the UAPA Act, Explosives Substances Act, Arms Act, and the Indian Penal Code.
