14-Year-Old Makes History, Wins ₹1 Crore on KBC

On the popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati, a 14-year-old child created history by becoming the youngest winner of ₹1 crore. On the fifteenth episode of the show hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, viewers were astonished to see Mayank, a Class 8 lad from Mahendragarh in Haryana, correctly answer the sixteenth question and win the grand prize. Following his accomplishment, Manohar Lal Khattar, the Chief Minister of Haryana, shared and even congratulated the young man on X.

"Mayank Lal, a talented eighth-grader from Mahendragarh, Haryana, has won ₹1 crore on KBC Junior, bringing honors to the state with his knowledge and abilities. "Had a conversation with the brilliant son's father over the phone, extending congratulations and best wishes for Mayank's prosperous future," Manohar Lal Khattar said in the post's caption.

The show's creators released a teaser on X that features a self-assured and driven Mayank taking home the grand prize. The young competitor can be heard in the video saying, "Your knowledge is the only thing that matters." Additionally, in the teaser, Mr. Bachchan is seen asking Mayank's parents about his outstanding performance. "He has also caused stress to his teachers." In the classroom, he is two steps ahead of them," his father jokes.

Mayank demonstrated exceptional skill in his pursuit of the enormous prize, winning ₹ 3.2 lakh without the need for any lifelines and used his first lifeline to answer the ₹ 12.5 lakh question.

Mayank breezed through the first fifteen questions and got to the "Rs 1 crore" question. The question posed to him was, "Which European cartographer is credited with creating the map that names the newly discovered continent America?"

Giovanni Battista Agnese, Martin Waldseemüller, Geradus Mercator, and Abraham Ortelius were the four choices.

Mayank secured ₹ 1 crore by selecting Martin Waldseemuller, which was the right choice. He tried the last question for ₹ 7 crore as well but was unable to respond and gave up the game.

The young competitor praised his parents and host Amitabh Bachchan for his support, saying he felt "very fortunate" to demonstrate his thirst for knowledge on the platform. "I consider myself really lucky to have had the chance to demonstrate my expertise at 'KBC Juniors Week,' and to compete against Amitabh Sir, who kept me going the entire time. For my family and me, winning such a substantial amount at such a young age is a source of great pride. We adore the program and Bachchan, Sir! I also want to take this chance to thank my parents for their unwavering support, which enabled me to perform well on the field and reach the one crore milestone," he added.
