A bus full of passengers headed into collision with the railing of a bridge and almost 10 died in the accident. The accident took place when a bus was traveling from Amritsar to Katra and skidded off on Jhajjat Kotli bridge on Jammu Srinagar highway. 66 people were injured and admitted to Government Medical College Hospital.
137 CRPF personnel and police were there for the rescue operation. The bus which fell had an extended family from Bihar which was going to Vaishno Devi for a child's ritual. An investigation is going on to find the reason for the accident. It's considered that it might be over speeding. Driver Ganesh Kuma was also found dead on that list of 10.
Jammu and Kashmir Governor Manoj Sinha announced financial aid of Rs. 5 lakh to the families of deceased persons and Rs. 50,000 to injured.
This is the third accident in Jammu and Kashmir this month that happened on Tuesday, 30th May. region while this accident was terrific enough.
