A 16-year-old boy from Shahpur Taluka in Thane was arrested by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch on Tuesday for reportedly calling the police control room late on Monday and threatening to harm actor Salman Khan on April 30.
During a 10-km pursuit, it took three police teams eight hours to apprehend the teen. According to the investigation, the Class XI dropout decided to make a threat after watching a YouTube video about Khan receiving threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
According to the police, on Monday at 9.14 p.m., someone identifying himself as "Goushala Rakshak Rocky Bhai" from Jodhpur called the control room. He wanted the police to tell Khan about his impending murder on April 30. Security was then increased in front of Khan's home.
“Since the suspect had switched off his phone, we zeroed in on a location and looked in some households but in vain. At 7.30 am, we saw two persons going on a motorcycle and gave them a chase in a vehicle. Seeing that unknown people were chasing them, they sped off. After chasing them for nearly 10 km, we caught them in Dolkhamb,” a senior officer said.
