Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the newly renovated Ayodhya railway station and launched two Amrit Bharat and six Vande Bharat trains, some virtually. Upon his arrival in the temple town, Prime Minister Modi conducted a roadshow from the airport to the railway station, where he was warmly received by many individuals who had assembled along the route.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in the temple town of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, after launching the redeveloped Ayodhya railway station and flagging off trains.
Improved facilities at Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station
The Station reflects the temple architecture of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir of Ayodhya. It has been built with a budget of over 240 crore rupees to serve approximately one lakh passengers daily.The three-story modern railway station building has modern facilities such as elevators, food courts, stores for religious needs, childcare rooms, and waiting areas.
The Amrit Bharat Express, a new type of superfast passenger train, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi. The two routes for this train are Darbhanga-Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal and Malda Town-Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminus (Bengaluru). This train is equipped with engines on both ends to enhance acceleration. Amrit Bharat Express offers improved facilities for train passengers such as well-designed seats, improved luggage racks, mobile charging points with holders, LED lights, CCTV, a public information system, and more.
The Prime Minister inaugurated six new Vande Bharat Trains. These trains are Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express, Amritsar-Delhi Vande Bharat Express, Coimbatore-Bangalore Cantt Vande Bharat Express, Mangalore-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express, Jalna-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express, and Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal Vande Bharat Express.
Phase 1 of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport
Phase 1 of the state-of-the-art airport has been constructed for over ₹1450 crore. The terminal building of the airport will cover an area of 6,500 sqm and can accommodate around 1 million passengers every year. The design of the terminal building's exterior showcases the architectural style of the future Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Other development projects
The Prime Minister inaugurated multiple development projects valued at approximately Rs 15,700 crores in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
