'Manisha Padhi' becomes india's first woman ADC

Manisha Padhi, an Odia girl and squadron leader, has been designated the governor of Mizoram's Aide-De-Camp (ADC). She is the first female armed forces officer appointed as an adjutant general (ADC) under an Indian governor.

Governor of Mizoram, Hari Babu Kambhampati, commended her on her appointment. The governor wrote in her X post, "My best wishes to her and may she excel in the sector with the expertise she has earned over the years."

Squadron Leader Manisha Padhi was presented to the officers and staff of the Raj Bhavan, Mizoram, on Wednesday when she formally took up her position and reported to the Governor. Before her current assignment, Sqn Leader Manisha Padhi served at three different Air Force locations: Bidar, Pune, and Bhatinda.

An aide-de-camp is a high-ranking individual's personal assistant or secretary, such as the head of state.

Padhi is a native of Ganjam district's Berhampur and a graduate of Bhubaneswar's C. V. Raman College of Engineering. Her parents are Bhubaneswari residents.
