Vygr Goa: Millet snacks, Mid-Day meal self-help groups received training

Block Technology Manager Arjun Mathkar and Assistant Agricultural Officer Diksha Kandolkar with Bardez Zonal Agriculture Officer Sampati Dhargalkar organized a workshop named ‘The Magnificent Millet workshop’. This workshop was specifically for self-help groups which supply mid-day meal to schools in taluka. 

This year we celebrate it as the International Year of Millets. Thus, to add nutritional value to day to day food through millets, Bardez zonal agriculture office, Goa, in collaboration with Taj Fort Aguada Resort and Spa, arranged this whole session or self-help groups. 

The team behind the smooth working of the workshop was mainly from Taj Aguada Resort and Spa. It included sous chef Aashutosh Shende, the chef Rukesh Bale, the commis Samir Kolte, guest service assistant Edris Pereira with Anmol Ahluwalia, cluster general manager as the head of the workshop. They exemplify the participants' different, tasty and easy-to-make dishes from millets which contain whole nutrients like Nine Grain Malt, Finger Millet Chilla, Sorghum Halwa and Foxtrail Upma. 

The total count of participants for this value education workshop was nearly 40 women from different self-help groups. They got to know about the tasty as well as healthy millet snacks which can be served to school students.
