Department of Atomic Energy introduces game-changing cancer care nutraceutical, 'AKTOCYTE'

Along with M/s. IDRS Labs Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, the Department of Atomic Energy has released AKTOCYTE, a food supplement or nutraceutical that is meant to improve the quality of life for cancer patients who are going through radiotherapy. Scientists from the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Mumbai, the Advanced Centre for Training, Research, and Education in Cancer in Navi Mumbai, Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, and M/s. IDRS Labs were at the opening event. They helped make the tablets.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has given its nod to AKTOCYTE. Decades of scientific study at DAE made AKTOCYTE tablets possible. The AKTOCYTE tablets are now available. This product will be a big step towards making cancer care more affordable in India.

The AKTOCYTE tablets have worked amazingly well, especially for pelvic cancer patients who are experiencing radiation treatment side effects. Patients who received AKTOCYTE tablets experienced remarkable recovery from the side effects of radiation treatment. The tablets represent a significant advancement in cancer care, collaborating with radiation treatment to facilitate self-healing, enhance the immune system, and combat free radicals.

Shri Vivek Bhasin, Director of BARC, spoke at the event and praised the work of DAE scientists and M/s. IDRS in making the commercialization a success. He also said that a lot of hard work by everyone involved led to the launch of the product, which will help protect healthy tissue from radiation damage during cancer treatment.
