Kavitha George: A Founder Making a Difference One Child at a Time

"Leadership is not about being in charge. It's about taking care of those in your charge."- Simon Sinek.

Kavitha George, a successful corporate leader, took this quote to heart when she started her own venture, Communicare Education. Her experience as a mother of a child with special needs led her to start a special needs education institute that empowers parents, teachers, and caregivers alike.

Kavitha had a commerce background and had worked for various corporate organizations before becoming Vice President for KFC restaurants. Her specialization was operations, training, and processes, and she was also involved in soft skill training. During her corporate stint, she had the opportunity to deal with young and middle-aged people, which helped her develop her skills as a leader. She was a mother of three children and her second.

Kavitha's daughter had a rare disorder called Cockayne Syndrome. This situation was a turning point in her life, and she decided to educate herself about the disorder. She realized that there was a huge gap in the education system for children with special needs, and this led her to start Communicare Education.

The idea behind Communicare was to empower parents, teachers, and caregivers who had children with special needs. The institute was one of the first to bring international programs to India in collaboration with the College of Allied Educators, Singapore. All training programs were recognized by the Ministry of Education, Singapore, and Kavitha's vision was to create a more meaningful intervention for children with special needs. Communicare Education's tagline is "Special needs education that empowers you."

For Kavitha, leadership is a forever-evolving process, and she believes that being a good leader means being a student forever. Her school background and being the firstborn in her family gave her the foundation for leadership.

She also believes that to be a good leader; one must lead by example. Kavitha has never feared taking the lead and has always believed that if you want to make an impact, you have to be the change. Her policy has always been that you have no right to complain if you cannot contribute meaningfully. She believes good support and teamwork are essential for a leader's success.

Kavitha is grateful for her supportive family and friends who have always been there for her. Her husband and three children have been her backbone; her extended family has always believed in and trusted her. She believes that she could not have achieved anything without their support.

Kavitha's advice to her younger self would be to choose a humanities education background, which would have helped her far more. She feels that she gives everyone too much benefit of the doubt but also believes that it is her strength in some ways. She is a true inspiration for all those who want to make a difference in the world. Her journey from being a successful corporate leader to starting her own venture shows that anyone can achieve their dreams with hard work, dedication, and a willingness to learn.

Kavitha's passion for helping children with special needs is commendable. Her vision for Communicare Education is to create a world where every child with special needs has access to quality education. She believes that every child deserves to be empowered, and Communicare Education is her way of making that happen. Kavitha's story is a true inspiration for all those who want to make a difference in the world.

"My humble request to everyone is to consider my plea, as this is a matter that is very close to my heart. If you know of a child or a parent who requires assistance, please do not hesitate to discuss the matter with those concerned. Often, people are uncertain about how to proceed, but there is no right or wrong approach. My appeal is that no child should be overlooked, and therefore, you should follow your instincts and reach out to the parent in a warm and non-intrusive manner. If you are aware of friends or family members who require assistance, let them know that you are there to support them. This is akin to addressing mental health issues. Unfortunately, individuals often refrain from asking for help as they are waiting to be asked. Hence, it is always beneficial to take the initiative and ask the other person. This is the first step towards resolving any issue. Even if nothing materializes, you would have made an attempt, which is commendable. Please join us in our efforts to assist children and parents, and we welcome you with open arms." ~ Kavitha George
