Ankit Mohapatra's Path to Success

I am Ankit Mohapatra, the founder of Utkrisht Digital and Utkrisht Real Estate. Today, I'll take you through my entrepreneurial journey, from the inception of my companies to the values and experiences that have shaped them.

Both Utkrisht Digital and Utkrisht Real Estate were born around the same time, driven by a vision to provide exceptional services in their respective domains.

Utkrisht Digital, our flagship brand, specializes in marketing consultation and digital marketing. Our mission is to cover every aspect of marketing, from consultation to digital marketing, marketing services, and creative solutions. We take immense pride in being a private limited company, Startup India recognized, and ISO certified.

On the other hand, Utkrisht Real Estate was founded with the goal of assisting property sellers in navigating the complex world of real estate. Whether it's apartments, villas, flats, or plots, we aim to provide comprehensive real estate solutions. Due to the nature of the real estate industry, we chose a proprietorship structure, allowing us to be agile and responsive to our clients' needs.

My journey into entrepreneurship is rooted in my educational and professional background. I hold a BTech in Mechanical Engineering and embarked on an MBA program before realizing that my true passion lay elsewhere. With 14 years of experience as a marketing head, I've had the privilege of working with a multitude of big-name brands. My portfolio boasts over 600 companies worldwide, ranging from startups to Fortune 500 giants.

At Utkrisht Digital, we offer a wide range of services, but what truly makes us unique is our "360 Degree Marketing Solution." This innovative program is designed to transform businesses within a hundred days, doubling their growth. It goes beyond traditional digital marketing to address critical aspects like sales processes, product optimization, and operational efficiency. We understand that successful marketing is not just about generating leads but also about converting them effectively.

Utkrisht Real Estate, on the other hand, specializes in selling apartments, villas, and plots. Through strategic partnerships with prominent real estate companies, we act as both resellers and individual property sellers, providing our clients with a wide array of options.

Why did I choose entrepreneurship? It was a suggestion from one of my clients, Mr. Milan Mishra, the founder of Duramix, a leading ready mix concrete company in Odisha. My consultation with Duramix led to incredible returns within just three months, and it was Mr. Mishra who encouraged me to harness my skills and experience to start my own venture. I took his advice to heart and decided to build something of my own.

Before even registering my companies, I had four significant projects lined up. Despite the prevailing market rates for marketing consultation and digital marketing in Odisha being in the range of 10-20 thousand rupees, I set my prices at ten times that amount. Why? Because I am committed to delivering top-quality work, and my company's name, "Utkrisht," reflects that commitment to excellence.

My entry into the real estate sector was spurred by a unique opportunity. While working with a large real estate company, I helped them generate sales with a mere investment of 35,000 rupees for lead generation. Impressed by the results, they approached me to create a real estate division. This venture was made possible with the guidance and support of my mentor, Mr. Pramathesh Mohanty, the current head of marketing at TM Constructions. His recommendation pushed me to establish Utkrisht Real Estate.

I believe in learning from everyone and recognize the importance of a support system. Currently, I don't have formal mentors, but my associates and the people I work with have become my pillars of strength. My clients, ranging from FMCG startups to spice companies, have been incredibly supportive. When I take on a project, I focus on their growth and provide guidance wherever I see opportunities for improvement.

Leading teams comes naturally to me. With 14 years of experience, I've handled large teams, including one with 300 members in a previous role. Managing responsibilities and making critical decisions is second nature to me, making it easier to handle the multifaceted demands of entrepreneurship.

In terms of family and friends' support, it hasn't always been easy. My parents, both state government employees, value the security of a 9-5 job, and they remain unaware of my ventures. Only my wife knows about my businesses and offers unwavering support.

While the transition into entrepreneurship brought new challenges, it also felt strangely familiar. Mr. Milan once told me that if I dedicated the same 8 hours I gave to my previous job to my own company, I could create a multinational corporation. My proficiency in various fields, including software and industry terminology, has enabled me to excel in my ventures. Mr. Pramathesh Mohanty, my mentor, further fueled my entrepreneurial spirit by recognizing my potential in real estate.

I believe anyone can achieve anything with the right skills, dedication, and experience. My advice to budding entrepreneurs is to consider a nine-to-five job for 10-15 years to develop expertise in a specific field. Once you've mastered your craft, you can chart your path to entrepreneurship.

Today's young entrepreneurs have a unique advantage with access to the internet. They can learn, adapt, and carve their own paths. I've witnessed firsthand the determination and focus of young entrepreneurs who are making their mark on the world.

Balancing two companies may seem daunting, but my prior work experience has prepared me for this challenge. I've transitioned from working extended hours in my previous job to now dedicating 15-16 hours a day to my businesses. The key difference is that I'm now working for myself, not for someone else.

I view Utkrisht Digital and Utkrisht Real Estate as my newborn babies. I nurture them, watch them grow, and am emotionally invested in their success.

Coming from a small village with limited exposure to English and Hindi, my journey has been one of self-discovery and relentless pursuit of knowledge. Despite considering myself an average student with an 80 percent score throughout my academic career, I've relied on my surroundings and experiences to fuel my growth. Today, I stand as a significant player in the corporate world, a testament to the power of perseverance and passion.

My journey as a founder has been a remarkable one, filled with challenges, support, and unwavering determination. I look forward to continuing this journey, nurturing my businesses, and empowering others to embark on their entrepreneurial paths. The road to success may be challenging, but with the right mindset and a commitment to excellence, anything is possible.
