Alcheringa IIT Guwahati, the 27th Edition of the annual cultural festival of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati, is going to be held in IITG Campus, North Guwahati, Assam. The history of Alcheringa starts in 1996, conducted by a group of students of IIT Guwahati.
The event promises non-stop entertainment for three days and four nights, bringing you festival features of rock shows, classical performances, fashion shows, quizzes, a non-stop DJ dance floor, and much more. Held at the end of January every year, Alcheringa has made it to the most significant cultural festival in Eastern India that is expected to attract 500+ colleges from different regions of the globe, with a footfall of 140,000 people.
It is of utmost excitement that in the past years, the stage has been graced by some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, including Vishal Shekhar, Mohit Chauhan, Mika Singh, Sonu Nigam, and Amaal Malik.
The list doesn’t end here! In addition to the performance, Alcheringa also offers a variety of food and merchandise stalls for attendees to enjoy. The event has a student team behind it working hard for the success of the 27th Edition having Borthakur's IAS Academy as the Title Sponsor and GPlus as the media partner. With the hold of non-stop entertainment, the Alcheringa also serves as a messenger to society by organizing many social campaigns known as kartavya.
With a wide range of performances, competitions, and activities, as well as opportunities for students to showcase their talents, the festival has grown significantly over the years, establishing itself as a brand of national repute.
