OpenAI CEO and Chatgpt founder Sam Harris Altman pays a visit to IIIT Delhi and attended an interview hosted by The Economic Times on June 7, 2023.
Mr.Satyan Gajwani,Vice Chairperson of the Times Internet, interacted with the tech giant, which unveiled many interesting aspects of artificial intelligence and its progress in India.
Chatgpt is an open-source chatbot that was established by OpenAI. It helps to create humanlike conversations and process information according to the user's prompts. It is the fastest-growing app in history and is seen to have a massive number of users within just 2 months of its inception.
In the event, Sam Altman discussed various facets of AI, including its regulations, ethical choices, global market, and the growth of artificial intelligence in India.
He mentioned that "AI and nuclear energy are the two fundamentals. If we want to see a future, we need to focus on it.".
When a question was raised about the future of Chatgpt and its emerging versions, he mentioned that "Gpt 4 is pretty good with the top 100 languages; we'll push this forward. Though it gets difficult to get hold of local languages spoken by fewer people,"
Nevertheless, every powerful tool of artificial intelligence comes with a cost to pay. When asked about the downsides of using AI, he mentioned that "I don't think current AI systems are dangerous. GPT4 doesn't pose an existential risk, but GPT10 might be a completely different thing".
He has acknowledged that India has embraced the chatbot with open arms and is impressed by the growth of India in terms of national technology and assets.
During his 2-day visit, Sam Altman has met Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, where they shared a great evening expressing and reviewing their views on Chaptgpt and Artificial Intelligence on Thursday, June 8, 2023.
