Celebration at the NIFT Mumbai Graduation Show in 2024
At the NIFT Kharghar Campus, NIFT Mumbai showed off the work of its graduating class. NIFT Mumbai, which is well-known for its prominent alumni in the fashion and lifestyle industries, graduated a class of 307 in 2024. The Graduation Show 2024 was opened by Prof. Dr. Pavan Godiawala, Director of NIFT Mumbai, and Prof. Dr. Sharmila Dua, Ex-Dean of NIFT.
The occasion was graced by the august presence of important members of the design and fashion industries. The Graduation Show allowed graduating students to showcase their creative collections. These books covered a wide range of topics, from longing stories and family dynamics to architectural and celestial dreams.
Showcase their Precious Collections:
Every collection displayed the individual ingenuity and vision of the pupils. Among the graduating class, Shrimati Shraavya's "Ghosts of Time" collection won her the Meher Castelino Award for Innovative Garment Construction that Sets a New Trend.
For her design collection that drew inspiration from Calatrava's architectural ideas, Shrimati Priti Raut won the Usha International Award for Best Garment Construction.
The esteemed Persis Khambatta Award for Excellence in Achievement, Scholarship, and Character was given to Shri. Rishikesh Mahajan. The winner of the best poster was Shri. Akshat Aman of the Fashion Communication department. The Director of NIFT Mumbai, Prof. Dr. Pavan Godiawala, emphasized the comprehensive education that NIFT students receive.
Pedagogy Speech delivered to the Graduates
He pointed out how the institute provides students with academic knowledge, industry exposure, teamwork, and professionalism, preparing them to transition into diverse professions in the fashion business. Professor Godiawala also emphasized the institute's developing pedagogy, which includes an entrepreneurial focus on not only design, management, and technology, but also emerging fields like financial services, digital currency, the metaverse, and digital education.
This complete strategy seeks to empower graduates not only as employees but also as potential business owners and innovators. The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), established in 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles of the Government of India, is the country's pioneering fashion education institute.
